For Lisa

She stands 4 feet tall, hands on her hips, head held

just high enough so her sights are on the future.

She is a little skinny in a high metabolism

busy adolescent sort of way, but almost ageless.

Her facial expression reveals strength, bravery

determination, wisdom to come. She is not

from rich parents, she is not from poor parents.

She is not her parents, but has their good qualities.

She is dressed in simple clothing and small boots

and if you stretched the imagination, there is a little

resemblance to the Greek goddess, Artemis.

She could be my grandmother, my mother

my sister, my friend, my daughter, me

and let us hope, the future.
